ABOUT MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION

Abstract

The article deals with multicultural education. It also discusses James Banks' five dimensions, the knowledge of which is essential for almost every teacher. The purpose of multicultural education is to create an equal edu-cational opportunity for all students,to change the school environment, to reflect different cultures and groups in the society and classrooms, to assist the community in building democracy and a harmonious society. It requires necessary skills, knowledge and relationships.
