Abstract

Conceptual meaning and understanding of the personality is multilateral. Issues related to its structure are the area of interest and the subject of study of such sciences as philosophy, psychology, history, social philosophy, political philosophy, etc.

The work focuses on the understanding of the role and importance of the individual not relative to any particular scientific branch, but in general, regarding the place of the individual in science. In this regard, the article analyzes the views of Alexander Hercen from his selected philosophical writings.
