Abstract

Territorial defense is a constituent part of military and general state measures, which are carried out on the territory of the state, to protect objects and communications from the enemy’s subversive acts, as well as to establish and support the martial law regime.
The main tasks of territorial defense include:

Reliable protection of important military economy objects and communications;

fight against the enemy’s subversive-intelligence terrorist forces;

Establishment and maintenance of the martial law regime in the entire territory of the country or in its individual districts;

By interaction with the state government and self-government bodies, implementation of both the legislative and other normative acts of the country related to territorial defense;

Participation in both the planning and provision of territorial defense measures;

Specifying the list of protected objects and communications and implementing measures to protect them;

Determination of the necessary forces and funds from the local budget;

Ensuring protection of law and order in their territory, in the places where martial law is declared;

During wartime, interaction with the leadership of the state government bodies established by the highest authorities of the country in accordance with the law on martial law:

In case of war, the territorial defense, in interaction with the defense forces, should ensure all-round damage to the invading enemy and slow down its progress, deter it by combat operations, by protection of strategically important territories and objects.
