Abstract

Society identifies several types of leaders who may slightly or radically differ from each other. Most notably, the prototype of a toxic leader is a relevant concept in the Defence Forces since it is quite common for people with their past experience to name a number of commanders and heads of administration with whom they have worked and personally know, and thus, to acknowledge that these types of leaders are extremely dangerous in leadership positions and have a highly negative impact on a collaborative organizational environment.
The subject of constant discussion is the question of what makes such leaders be promoted to leadership positions, what kind of systemic problems this issue is related to, and how it is possible to cooperate with these leaders so that not to pose a threat to the working climate. It is difficult, but not impossible, to give an unambiguous answer to this question, considering the analysis of numerous cases, even the cases of commanders with high rank and position.
