Peer-review process

All articles submitted to the Georgica: Journal of Georgian Studies undergo a peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of our publications.

The articles that are submitted for publication are sent by email or submitted via registration link (See submission section on the website).

Upon submission, the journal's editors conduct an initial review to confirm the paper’s relevance to the journal's scope. Once approved, the article enters a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of both the author(s) and reviewer(s) are kept confidential.

The editor-in-chief in consultation with the editorial team, selects at least two anonymous reviewers who are scholars with expertise relevant to the paper’s content. To uphold ethical standards, editors are prohibited from handling papers that they have written themselves or those by family members.

After a double blind review, the editor-in-chief in consultation with the editorial board, makes the final decision for the selection of the article that contributes to the field of Georgian studies.

The authors will be informed for the admission materials within a month, while the review process will take place around 3 months.
